* To whom correspondence should be addressed. This article is a review of the research literature on mental health correlates of domestic violence, with an emphasis on posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It was done to develop clues, symptoms, and indicators so that practitioners in mental health or criminal justice could become alert to indicators of the onset and severity of depression, anxiety disorders, substance abuse, and/or PTSD among battered women.
